What is MoonPhase?
My mind never stops racing with questions and theories about how the world of politics shapes me and those I love. Afterall, politics is about resolving dilemmas through making choices. Perhaps it is no surprise that being human feels political, too, since it is the choices that make us the people we are.
I created Moonphase to be a space for the stories, dilemmas, and challenges we encounter every day – and the search for meaning and happiness behind each of them. To explore the power dynamics, the silent discomfort, and the overlooked nuances of the decisions we are forced to make with every breath we take. Have you wondered how people’s identities have grown so intertwined with their political beliefs in the 21st century? What are the boundaries of our empathy? How is the advancement of technology altering how we view relationships?

Why call it MoonPhase?
When I tell stories, I imagine I describe the moon to someone who has never seen it before. It is a forever-changing celestial body, the beauty of which is in the eyes of the beholder. It can be described through it all – pale yellow light, shadows, crimson glow; round, sharp as a sword, half-empty, half-full. The moon is all of these things and at the same time, none of them, as is every story worth telling.
Moonphase is my attempt to explain the world by combining concepts from different perspectives and approaches. I love political conversations – and yet, I also crave to be inspired by the beauty of language, challenged by logical paradoxes, and infuriated by reality. On this page, I try to incorporate the search for knowledge with the search for what it feels like to be alive.
